TODAY’S LESSON
Drop the expectations on how you “should” feel (or how things should turn out) to embrace how you DO feel.

Jump to: Weekly Meditation | Journal Prompt | Affirmation

Today’s lesson you’ll learn:

  • Getting control over how you feel by changing your relationship with life not meeting your expectations.
  • Why it’s a myth that “meditation should always be relaxing and peaceful and if it isn’t, I must be doing it wrong”.

Yes, meditation can be peaceful and relaxing, but often times, it’s not.

Yes, life is lovely when it goes according to plan, but often times, it doesn’t.

These are the most important sessions because growth comes from challenges, not from comfort.

While meditating, sometimes you’ll have a hard time sitting still. You’ll feel uncomfortable. Your mind will be so loud. Around you distractions may pop up, kids making noise, husband asking questions.

Go into your meditation practice without any expectations about how you “should” feel while meditating, and instead come to your session with curiosity and acceptance as you decide to witness what you experience, instead of trying to control or avoid what you experience.

Today – Notice your expectations, notice your reaction to your expectations not being met
